We will forever be asking ourselves, ‘What would Nick have done’
In loving memory of Nick Berg
In late February 2024, we were faced with the devastating news of the sudden death of our Chief Executive Officer Nick Berg.
The Fundraising Partnership are a family, a true collaboration of likeminded people working together to achieve great things. We encourage each other to grow, we celebrate our joint achievements and together we support each other through more challenging times. As a family we don’t feel it is right to simply remove Nick off our website, we want to tell the world what a truly incredible person he was.
Nick was a cornerstone of our company, instilling excellence into everything we do, he pushed us to be better, to put our Fundraisers, our Charity Partners and their supporters at the forefront of everything we do. He had a passion for data and statistics that inspired our recruitment practices that focus on long term sustainable income over short term gains for our charity partners. Along with the Senior Management Team, Nick was insistent that we could be a force for good in the Face-to-Face Fundraising sector.
Nick had an unmatched intelligence that many people were in awe of. However, to many he was a mentor, a friend and confidante. Nick had time for everyone and loved to listen and observe, encouraging other people to shine and develop as a professional. He was generous with his time, but also in other ways, we’d often receive little anonymous gifts through the post as he seen something that he thought we might like or need.
We will miss the Christmas Jumpers that were worn all year round, we’ll miss how any conversation could go off in a wild direction because what we were discussing reminded him of a song, a film or a theory. His love of West Ham will live with us forever.
It’s true to say that The Fundraising Partnership would not be the place it is today without Nick Berg and as a family, we are committed to honouring and continuing his work, building on the foundations he helped lay.
We will forever be asking ourselves, ‘What would Nick have done’
